Kim Fonder loves texture and touch. Her paintings and furniture reflect her infatuation with these two characteristics. From the materials Fonder selects, to the way she crafts each piece; these two attributes remain her focus. She seeks to honor Leonardo Da Vinci’s words, “Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.” Jack Kerouac said, “One day, I will find the right words, and they will be simple.” Finding the right words and knowing how to create simplicity seem at first place rudimentary and obvious. Painting teaches Kim the complexity of bring simple. Her passion is of the kinesthetic. She aims to create a dynamic interface with the viewers experience.
